Bangkok - Matyas's View
We landed at the airport in Bangkok. We went to pick up our luggage and then went through customs. We looked for an ATM to exchange money and went to buy a token for the metro, which went over a bridge. We got off. We wanted to take bus number 8, but we didn’t want to risk getting lost because we didn’t know where the stop was, so we called a taxi. We got off at the accommodation. It was a four-story building with doors that needed a password. When we settled in, we went to the street where there were food stalls everywhere, but we went to eat at a place where you “buy ingredients and cook yourself.”
I woke up at 1:00 PM, had Greek yogurt and Kanom krok - rice flour balls filled with corn. We took a bus across the street and waited. Then we got on an old bus and paid 10 baht for the ticket. We got off at Lumpini Park and there we saw monitor lizards climbing trees, swimming and walking around. There were water bikes that looked like food for monitor lizards, i.e., ducks, free for 20 minutes, which people 80 kg and over can’t use, so Tato and Leo couldn’t go. Only Arthur and I went. In the evening we walked around the street and tried street food. It rained heavily, so we got wet because we didn’t have raincoats with us. And I didn’t have my umbrella because mom was silly and didn’t want me to bring it.
In the morning I bought Greek yogurt and Kanom krok. We went to the floating market. We had to travel by two buses. At the beginning there are many food stalls. You can buy a motorboat ride. We sailed on a boat on the water to another market. There were rabbits, guinea pigs and pigs and many shops. We looked around for 20 minutes. When we went back, we saw monitor lizards along the way.
We decided to go see the butterfly garden and insectarium. We had iced drinks along the way. I had a banana one with chocolate. We arrived at the park. There were sprinklers that we ran from because they were spinning and spraying everywhere and hit us. We walked around and saw monitor lizards. We went to see the butterfly garden, but it was closed because it was Monday. It’s always closed on Mondays and we didn’t know that.
I liked Bangkok because there were monitor lizards there. I liked the street food there. Everything there was excellent, fresh. I liked the chilled pineapple and coconut water the most. I would like to go back there sometime.
