Abu Dhabi - Matyas's View

We flew by plane to Dubai. Dad had already called a minibus. We traveled for an hour by minibus to Abu Dhabi.

We had accommodation in the desert. It was small but cozy. We had two bathrooms and bedrooms, a mini kitchen. We had a cat as a neighbor.

In Abu Dhabi I liked Al Qana Aquarium. I liked it because you could see live animals (fish, snakes, birds, amphibians, crustaceans and my favorite animal mantis shrimp) and at the end we were on a boat that was above the fish, rays and sharks and we could watch them from above.

We also went to the Great Mosque of Sheikh Zayed, which was built between 1994-2007. It was beautiful there. There was a large carpet, a mushroom-looking chandelier, air conditioning and there were clocks showing every time in the world and a pool. The guards mistook me for a girl because of my long hair and told me to cover my head. It made me angry and I wanted to leave. It ruined my mood.

Then we went to teamLab Phenomena. It was an illusion place. It was colorful light in the dark. We saw a mirror forest, moving walls, an orbital sphere, a touch wall, a laser show and more. There was also a terrible room where there was an illusion that I would fall into an abyss. I felt like I was going to throw up and fall off.

We took a taxi to the promenade. We wanted to go to Heritage Village, but it was closed. I wanted to go back to the accommodation. We went for a walk with the family because they wanted to see fireworks.

We went to eat at the shopping center. We ate and dad bought milk and chocolate cereal with a picture of a scary monkey on the package.

We went outside and saw people spraying each other with foam spray. Lots of people, lots of trash, lots of honking and lots of mess.

I didn’t like the foam spray. It was unexpected, it was night and there was a big traffic jam and we had to wait a very long time until the ride came. It’s their holiday on December 2nd - National Day. They create traffic jams that the police try to clear, mess and everyone sprays each other with foam spray and there were also fireworks and the next day a cleaning crew comes and cleans it all up.
